British Formula 3 front-runner Carlos Sainz Jr. and Superstars champion Johan Kristoffersson were among the talents Audi evaluated in its annual DTM young driver test at Monteblanco this week.
Sainz was joined by his Carlin F3 teammate Will Buller and fellow Volkswagen-powered F3 racer Tom Blomqvist.
Kristoffersson won this year's Superstars title driving a KMS Audi, overcoming ex-Formula 1 man Tonio Liuzzi at the final round, while also taking the Scandinavian Touring Car and Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia crowns in parallel programs.
Formula Renault 3.5 driver Nico Muller and ex-Formula 2 front-runner Miki Monras were the other open-wheel racers invited.
Former Honda F1 test driver James Rossiter, now part of Lotus' sports car program, also took part, as did Andrea Sonvico, who fought for the Italian GT3 title in Audi machinery for the past two years.
Established Audi DTM drivers Filipe Albuquerque and Miguel Molina, who both earned their seats by impressing in young driver tests, were on hand to offer advice.
