Britain's leading World Rally Championship driver Matthew Wilson will headline this weekend's Rally GB promotional event around the streets of Llandudno. The Stobart Ford driver will entertain the crowds in his Focus RS WRC08 just over a week before he starts Britain's round of the championship in Cardiff. The final round of this year's WRC will also be the final event ever for the two-liter World Rally Car.
The 23-year-old Englishman, who has started 73 rounds of the WRC, will be the main attraction at the event which runs from midday on Sunday, from the West Shore car park, close to the Great Orme. Also attending the event will be British Rally Championship frontrunner Jason Pritchard (Subaru Impreza WRX), Callum Black (Suzuki Swift S1600) and Matt Edwards (MG ZR).
Wilson said: "I'm really looking forward to the event. Any time you get to take the show to the people is a brilliant opportunity and one we wouldn't want to miss. It's also a great chance to do some handbrake turns and do some skids!
"North Wales and Llandudno has some real Rally GB heritage, so it's good to be showing people around there what's on offer a bit farther south a week later. Let's hope the weather's good; there's nothing better than a sunny Sunday by the sea."
