Nico Hulkenberg, Williams, Silverstone 2010Williams will continue to run its blown diffuser for the full British Grand Prix weekend after being pleased with the new exhaust system's performance in Friday practice.

The team had initially only committed to trying out the upgrade in practice before evaluating its success. But with Rubens Barrichello 10th in both sessions and Nico Hulkenberg seventh in the morning, Williams technical director Sam Michael said the team was confident that the new package was paying off and was ready to be raced.

"We've had a good day evaluating setup and tires, as well as testing the new parts that we've brought here," he said. "The upgrades all worked as expected, including the exhaust blown diffuser, so we will be keeping that on both cars for the rest of the weekend."

Williams' only problem during the practice day was a gearbox oil leak that delayed Hulkenberg's start to session two.
