TOPEKA, Kan. (August 6, 2007) – This year, the Sports Car Club of America Region that produces the most first-time visitors to the SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by AT&T at Heartland Park Topeka will win the 2007 Runoffs Road Trip Challenge. With little more than two months before all transporters point to Topeka, four Regions from opposite points of the country are in a tight battle at the top of the scoreboard.
The San Francisco Region currently leads the field with 12 new attendees, which accounts for more than half of its total Runoffs entries. The Colorado, Florida and Washington D.C. Regions are close behind with nine new attendees each. It’s fair to say the contest is up in the air however, since it won’t take much for any Region to surge ahead and take hold of the lead.
The Region that wins the Runoffs Road Trip Challenge will receive a trophy and all drivers and volunteers from that Region will receive a patch and have their 2008 National SCCA Dues waived.
Last year’s Runoffs Road Trip Challenge was won by the region that sent the most drivers and volunteers total, with the Washington D.C. region taking the inaugural honors.
If you’re on the fence about making the trip to Topeka for the first time this year, make the jump and win one for your Region! Register for the 2007 SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by AT&T and learn more about the Road Trip Challenge at the Runoffs event page.
