Anthony WestFormer works Kawasaki rider Anthony West has become the latest ex MotoGP racer to secure a place in the Moto2 field.

The 28-year-old Australian had signed for the MZ team earlier this year, but the squad was only on the reserve list for the new championship, which supersedes the 250cc series. However, with the Kino team hitting financial problems, MZ and West have now been awarded the final spot on the grid.

West was drafted into the Kawasaki MotoGP lineup midway through 2007, when Olivier Jacque decided to retire after an injury. He stayed with the team through the end of 2008, but was only able to take one top-five finish, and was dropped even before Kawasaki opted to withdraw from MotoGP. West subsequently switched to the World Supersport series for 2009.
