Practice for the Kentucky round of the IndyCar Series has been delayed due to patches of moisture on the track.

Although the skies are clear over the speedway today, heavy overnight rain led to significant "weepers" appearing at Turns 3 and 4. The Indy Lights practice session scheduled for midday local time has yet to take place, although the IndyCar sessions are likely to take precedence when the track is cleared for use.

The original schedule saw a half hour session for rookies and drivers outside the top ten in points before two hours of full field practice and then qualifying. A 45-minute night practice in preparation for Saturday evening's floodlit race is also planned following qualifying.
