Danny WattsA repeat of Strakka Racing's top-six finish at the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours is realistic at this weekend's 80th running of the French enduro, according to team regular Danny Watts.

Strakka finished fifth overall when it claimed LMP2 honours with its HPD ARX-01c two years ago and Watts believes it will be possible for the team to be best of the rest behind the factory cars and make it into the top six again with its LMP1 ARX-03a in 2012.

Watts, who shares the Strakka HPD with Jonny Kane and team owner Nick Leventis, said: "We've got to rely on a little bit of misfortune among the factory cars, but I don't see why we can't finish in the top six again. I believe we will have good pace and I think we will have good reliability as well, so there's no reason why we can't mix it with the best of the privateers."

Strakka has been buoyed by the results of the Le Mans Test Day earlier this month when Watts ended up fastest of the privateers in LMP1.

His best time of 3m34.243s, which put the Stakka HPD seventh on the timesheets, was more than a second clear of the next best LMP1 privateer time.
