Michael Waltrip, Rui Aguas, Rob Kauffman AF Ferrari, Le Mans 2011Former Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip believes he can continue improving at his first Le Mans 24 Hours. The NASCAR racer is sharing an AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia with Rui Aguas and Rob Kauffman in the French enduro this weekend.

Aguas qualified the No. 71 machine 15th in the GTE-Pro class with a time of 4m02.216s. Waltrip's best during the qualifying sessions was 4m18.171s.

"I feel a bit more comfortable in the car, but still have some work to do," admitted Waltrip. "I look forward to the race and getting more comfortable in the 458. I know that once in the race I'll be able to pick up my lap times.

"The experience here has been great – the atmosphere is electric, and I'm just really thankful to be a part of it all."
