NASCAR news site SceneDaily.com reports that former Formula 1 World Champion and CART and Indy 500 champ Jacques Villeneuve is among those to have inquired about purchasing the Red Bull NASCAR team's assets.
Red Bull Racing announced earlier this year that it would sell off its NASCAR program at the end of the year. The French-Canadian's business manager confirmed to Scene Daily that Villeneuve has inquired about buying the team, but gave no indication of whether talks have been productive.
The report indicated Villeneuve was likely to be lining up investors with the idea of purchasing the team with the idea of him running a partial Cup schedule along with another driver.
