Villeneuve crashes out of 24 Hours
Jacques Villeneuve has crashed out of his first Spa 24 Hours. The 1997 Formula 1 World Champion had been setting competitive lap times in the Gravity Racing Mosler he was sharing with Vincent Radermacker, Ho-Pin Tung and Loris de Sordi. He was running second in the G2 class when a sudden rain shower caused a multi-car accident on the run to the Bus Stop chicane and the front of the Mosler was ripped off.
Villeneuve walked away from the accident, but the incident caused the race's second safety car period.
The Selleslagh Racing Chevrolet Corvette, currently being driven by Bert Longin, continues to lead.
