Jacques Villeneuve will compete against Sebastien Loeb and Yvan Muller at the Pau Grand Prix touring car race later this year. All three will take part in the Supertourisme 2L races that support the headline Formula 3 races around the famous French street track on May 18-20.
Villeneuve, who added the 1997 Formula 1 world title to his CART Indy car crown of two years earlier, is a newcomer to the silhouette machines, which are more powerful than the similar Mitjet cars that will also compete at Pau.
Nine-time World Rally Champion Loeb has far more experience of Pau, having taken a double win in the Porsche Carrera Cup France there last year. Muller made several Pau appearances in World Touring Cars, but was never a race winner.
Muller's participation is dependent on the three-time World Touring Car champion not finding a WTCC drive for the season. The WTCC's Salzburgring round is scheduled to take place on the same weekend.
