During the Le Mans summer break, BMW Team RLL went to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for a Dunlop tire test. To give race fans a glimpse of the conditions its tires face during every race, Dunlop mounted a series of GoPro cameras to the No. 55 BMW M3 GT and followed driver Jörg Müller on a lap. A camera mounted only inches from the pavement shows how the Dunlops must handle changing road conditions, while a view of the tire itself displays the forces encountered during high-speed cornering. A third camera focused on Müller shows how the tire's handling response translates feedback through the steering wheel and back to the driver. The result is a strong reminder of the demands placed on any race tire.
