Braun Racing has confirmed that Sprint Cup regular Brian Vickers will run the next three Nationwide Series races in its No. 32 Dollar General Toyota Camry in place of Burney Lamar, who has been released by the team. After that, Vickers will be joined by “a strong team of drivers,” the team said in a statement announcing the move.
“Burney Lamar is truly a standout guy who has great potential to be successful in this sport,” said team owner Todd Braun. “I wish the best for him in his future endeavors. We are building for the future of this team, and we believe that we are moving in a very positive direction.”
Lamar made nine Nationwide Series starts for the team this year, managing just one top 10 finish.
