Carlin's Jean-Eric Vergne was quickest on day two of Formula Renault 3.5 testing at Barcelona, but once again rain interfered with the teams' plans.
Repeated showers meant scant chance for dry running in the morning, which was yet another session topped by title favorite Daniel Ricciardo (ISR). Conditions had been extremely treacherous early on, catching out Arthur Pic and Cesar Ramos, who both ended up with damaged cars after incidents.
The afternoon session opened with a brief period of dry running, in which Vergne took the opportunity to lap in 1m34.409sec to set the pace ahead of BVM Target's Daniel Zampieri and ISR teammates Ricciardo and Nathanael Berthon. Shortly after those quick times were set, the rain returned with a vengeance, with conditions eventually getting so bad that the field sat out the final hours.
