Giovanni Venturini will remain with Trident for the 2013 GP3 season.
The 21-year-old Italian stepped across from Formula Renault 3.5 to join the squad for the second half of 2012, taking podium finishes at Hockenheim and Monza.
Venturini tested for ART and Status over the winter before electing to stay at Trident, where he joins David Fumanelli and Emanuele Zonzini in an all-Italian line-up.
"During the off-season, I drove for two other teams in testing, and I'm convinced that this is the right choice, from both a technical and personal standpoint," said Venturini. "In last week's collective test, I found a great chemistry with the car and I think we can definitely be in the struggle for the title.
"It's going to be a hard-fought series with at least eight great candidates. In the end, I think that consistency will be the key, and that's the main direction we're headed."
Venturini was a race-winner in Auto GP in 2011 before moving to FR3.5 and GP3.
