SI.com reports that the rumored Las Vegas IndyCar finale could be a doubleheader format, along the lines of the recently announced Texas twin races.
SI reports that IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard is attempting to get the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Bureau to sponsor the event with a large purse for the championship finale. It says another idea under consideration is to have two races that weekend, with a street race crowning the Mario Andretti Trophy winner on Day 1 with the championship finale taking place on the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway the following day.
IndyCar will announce its full 2011 schedule this Friday.
