New McLaren junior driver Stoffel Vandoorne topped the first Formula Renault 3.5 test of 2013 at Aragon on Friday.
The Belgian, who was snapped up by McLaren earlier this week, topped both the morning and afternoon sessions in the Fortec car which took Robin Frijns to the 2012 championship.
Vandoorne, who also succeeded Frijns as Formula Renault Eurocup champion last year, topped FR3.5 veteran Daniil Move to top spot in the closing minutes of both the morning and afternoon sessions.
The best times of the day came in the afternoon session, as the teams got some dry running in after the track had been wet for most of the morning. Red Bull junior and championship favorite Antonio Felix da Costa jumped Move to take second just before the end of the day's running, leaving the Russian with the third fastest time.
The top six was completed by the Draco cars of Nico Muller and Andre Negrao, who sandwiched fifth placed Will Stevens.
