Giedo van der Garde will return to the wheel of a Formula 1 car when he drives for Caterham in the opening practice session for the Japanese Grand Prix.
The Dutch driver, who competed with Caterham in the GP2 series this season, will get his second outing of the year, having already driven in practice in the Chinese Grand Prix.
Van der Garde will replace Heikki Kovalainen in the session, the Finn returning to the cockpit in the afternoon.
