Carlo van Dam has split with the Kolles & Heinz Union team with which he contested the first two rounds of the Formula 3 Euro Series. The Dutchman, who won the German F3 title in 2007 and the Japanese F3 title last season, has made a disappointing start to the season with the team, which is new to F3 this year.
"This has of course been an important and thoroughly considered decision," said van Dam. "I am happy that we have found a solution which is in the best interest of both parties."
The Kolles team is yet to break into the top 10 in the Euro Series this year and skipped the Masters of F3 event at Zandvoort two weeks ago to concentrate on improving its cars.
Van Dam says he is now considering options with other teams in several racing categories.
