X Games/motocross/stuntman/rally/NASCAR racer Travis Pastrana told the
Indianapolis Star that he has "agreed to pursue" IndyCar's $5 million bonus available to a non-IndyCar regular who can win the season-ending race IZOD World Championship on Oct. 16 at Las
Vegas Motor Speedway.
The Star reports that, for now, the agreement only includes a test at a yet-to-be-determined time and location, but Pastrana said he wants to compete in the race, too.
"For me to not do that, I would regret it for the rest of my life," he said. "It's absolutely amazing, and I'm definitely looking forward to it."
NASCAR ace Kasey Kahne and ALMS racer Joey Hand are also tipped to be among potential candidates for the five open spots in the field.
