Trans-Am Series completes schedule with Road Atlanta finale
SCCA Pro Racing and Road Atlanta announced today that the SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series will run the season finale as part of the 13th Annual Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA6 weekend, Round 10 of the 2010 series calendar.
The Trans-Am Series will race Friday, Oct. 1, one day before the annual 10-hour American Le Mans Series race. The series will also hold its annual awards ceremony in the Atlanta area.
"Adding Road Atlanta to the Trans-Am Series schedule gives us 10 great events for the season," SCCA Pro Racing President and CEO Robert Wildberger said. "The combination of our events will allow the Trans-Am competitors to make a name for themselves, and also to showcase the series in front of fans and sponsors at great tracks across North America."
The announcement completes the 10-race 2010 Trans-Am Series schedule, which includes six events headlined by the high horsepower machines. The Trans-Am Series also races with the NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR Camping World Series, IZOD IndyCar Series and the Petit Le Mans date with the American Le Mans Series.
