Paul Tracy has never been one to avoid stirring things up when he feels the situation calls for it, and apparently he feels the status quo in the IZOD IndyCar Series is one of those times. The Canadian, who again has no full-time ride in the series but is expected to run the Indy 500 and Canadian races again for KV Racing, weighed in via his Twitter page about the ongoing lack of North American drivers in IndyCar racing.
“Four drivers from this continent at the first test,” Tracy tweeted to his Twitter followers. “I think there are three wins for all of them put together. As guys like [Graham] Rahal, [Buddy] Rice and me get to stay home and watch. If that's what you fans want…enjoy.”
When followers responded with tweets of their own blaming the car owners signing all the foreign drivers – which in the last few days have included Tracy's own KV squad, Conquest Racing and Bryan Herta's new team – Tracy replied that they were misdirecting their anger.
“Open-wheel fans have been foolishly loyal over the last 15 years, as both series have dragged open-wheel to the bottom of the ocean,” Tracy tweeted this morning. “We have held our breath long enough. And I implore every fan to take charge of what you love and want from IndyCar!!!!!!”
