Paul Tracy will rejoin Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for the next two rounds of the IZOD IndyCar Series season at Kentucky Speedway and Twin Ring Motegi in the No. 24 Motegi Racing Wheels/Dreyer & Reinbold car. The car will feature a revised paint scheme (shown below).
Tracy, the 2003 Champ Car World Series champion, will be making his 10th IndyCar Series start but first at the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway oval. He has competed six times at Twin Ring Motegi.
"It's great to be back with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing again this year," said Tracy, who competed for the team at Watkins Glen in July. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to run some ovals with the team. It's been awhile since I've raced on an oval but I'm ready for the challenge with the next two races plus I have some experience in Japan. Many thanks to Robbie (Buhl) and Dennis (Reinbold) again for welcoming me to their team. Motegi Racing Wheels also deserves a big thanks for sticking by me. I'm also looking forward to working with Justin (Wilson) again."
Tracy, in his 20th Indy car season, has 31 victories (tied for seventh all-time), 25 poles (ninth all-time) and 4,238 laps led.
The team is still waiting to see whether injured Mike Conway will be able to return to the No. 24 for the final event of the season at Homestead.
