You wanted the best. You got the best. We're pleased and excited to announce that Helio Castroneves, the three-time and defending Indianapolis 500 champion, will be joining RACER magazine as its new open-wheel columnist.

With that same impeccable timing he's known for on the racetrack (and the dance floor), Helio's first column appears in the May issue of RACER magazine (begins mailing to subscribers April 9), as he begins the build-up to his quest to join the elite club of four-time Indy 500 winners.

The ebullient Team Penske star is rarely short of a word or three, so look out for his opinion and insight on a wide and varied range of subjects. As well as looking ahead to the Month of May, the Brazilian will also be giving us his take on the IZOD IndyCar Series' successful, but incident-packed visit to Sao Paulo, and talking about a new and exciting part of his life – being a dad for the first time.

“I'm looking forward to not only bringing RACER magazine's readers some personal insight into the IndyCar Series and Team Penske, but also giving them my take on the wider world of racing. It should be a lot of fun,” says Castroneves.

The May issue of RACER magazine also includes an in-depth interview with Marco Andretti and checks in with the IndyCar Series' new CEO, Randy Bernard, on his plans and vision for North America's leading open-wheel championship.
