Andrea Caldarelli, Tech 1, Silverstone GP3 testingTech 1 has completed its 2011 GP3 lineup by signing Andrea Caldarelli and Tamas Pal Kiss to join Aaro Vainio.

The team had been set to retain Doru Sechalariu for a second season, but the Romanian was "not able to fulfill all the necessary conditions to continue with us," according to team boss Simon Abadie.

Caldarelli, who was third in Italian Formula 3 last year, moves to GP3 after contesting the recent GP2 Asia series with Ocean. A former Toyota protege, the Italian has tested one of the Japanese firm's Formula 1 cars.

"Even if Andrea Caldarelli is not yet fully accustomed to this car, he's the most experienced driver in the team this year – and he's only 21!" said Abadie. "We're delighted to have him with us, and he's going to make a big contribution to the team in addition to being a good yardstick for his two teammates as his skills speak for themselves. His experience in F3 in which he's already won races will be a big help. We're counting on him a lot."

Pal Kiss, a 19-year-old Hungarian, was third in Formula Renault UK last year.

"He made a big impression on us in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup last season in Budapest," Abadie said. "He's a pretty fiery driver, and after a good season in the top-level UK Formula Renault 2.0 Championship, he's everything to play for in the GP3 Series. Like Aaro, he's going to have to learn the ropes first of all."

Both Pal Kiss and Caldarelli ran with Tech 1 at the recent GP3 tests at Silverstone. The French team took podium finishes last year with Stefano Coletti and Daniel Juncadella.
