Mercedes and Ferrari are considering running their young driver test days at former French Grand Prix venue Magny-Cours the week after the Italian Grand Prix.
The idea to run at Magny-Cours instead of Yas Marina after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was raised by Mercedes. Other teams were subsequently offered the chance to run. Ferrari is considering taking up the offer, although the details of such a test have yet to be set in stone. The regulations permit teams to run for up to three days.
Mercedes said that it is "looking into" running at Magny-Cours, while a Ferrari spokesperson also confirmed that the Scuderia is evaluating the possibility of running there. This comes in the wake of Williams, HRT and Marussia running at Silverstone last week. The Abu Dhabi test would still go ahead, although none of the teams who opted to appear at either Silverstone or Magny-Cours would be permitted to run.
