British Formula 3 officials have excluded JTR's Nick Tandy from the results of race one at Hockenheim yesterday for irregularities with his Mygale-Mercedes' airbox.
Tandy has lost the three points he won for finishing eighth in that race, promoting Wayne Boyd (T-Sport) to eighth, Victor Garcia (Fortec) to ninth and handing the final point to Welshman Hywel Lloyd.
Caretaker team boss Stuart Prior said: "A lump of tyre rubber flicked up from the circuit and wedged itself in the air intake. It caused a vacuum and cracked the airbox.
"It's just unlucky for us, we probably gained no more than a tenth of a second per lap, but the rules are the rules and I like ones that are unambiguous. The officials are right so we accept it and move on."
