Auto GP racer Adrien Tambay will make his World Series by Renault debut next weekend.
Pons has encountered difficulty securing a regular teammate for Briton Oliver Webb, and Tambay will be the fourth driver to occupy the team's No. 18 car this season.
GP3 driver Dominic Storey competed for Pons in the Motorland opener, while former Indy Lights champion Jean-Karl Vernay and Czech Superleague hopeful Filip Salaquarda have enjoyed subsequent outings at Spa and Monza.
Tambay has recent experience of Formula Renault 3.5 machinery from a test with the now defunct Epsilon Euskadi team at Monza in late March. The GP3 race winner scored a podium with Gravity-Charouz DAMS in the opening round of the Auto GP championship at Monza last weekend.
