Motorcycling's governing body, FIM, has signed what it claims to be a "historic" agreement with TAG Heuer, with the Swiss company becoming the official timing partner.
The long-term deal will see TAG Heuer being in charge of several FIM championships' timing from next year.
"TAG Heuer will provide several FIM Championships with the highest possible level of timing and data management services," said FIM president Vito Ippolito. "TAG Heuer, as the official FIM-approved time-keeping system, will develop and produce exclusive timing systems for all our national federations, continental unions, organizers, promoters and riders.
"Our collaboration will also cover the research and development of new timing devices dedicated to our demanding safety regulations requests. The FIM is really proud to welcome TAG Heuer, a prestigious Swiss brand, to its motorcycling family!"
TAG Heuer was Formula 1's official time keeper for several years and now sponsors the McLaren team.
