Adrian Sutil says he wants a quick answer from Force India about his future, amid speculation that the team will replace him with Nico Hulkenberg.
While Sutil's teammate Paul di Resta is considered secure in his seat for 2012, there have been rumors that the team will take up its option to put current third driver Hulkenberg in a race seat at Sutil's expense. Team boss Vijay Mallya had previously indicated that it would not be making any driver decisions until after the 2011 season was finished, but Sutil told reporters at media events ahead of the Indian Grand Prix that he wanted talks with Mallya before then.
"I can't wait until December," Sutil told Reuters. "I will speak to him very soon and see what his ideas are. I don't need to wait so long for a seat. I think I know what I can do, so I don't feel insecure."
Mallya told AUTOSPORT last month that his focus was currently on ensuring Force India beat Sauber and Toro Rosso to sixth in the constructors' championship rather than sorting its 2012 lineup.
"I have told them, please don't bother me about driver choices right now," Mallya said then. "We will focus on getting a good position in the constructors' and we will talk about everything else later."
