Anderlecht's Yelmer Buurman set the fastest time in practice ahead of this weekend's fourth round of Superleague Formula at Estoril in Portugal.
The Dutchman lapped the former Portuguese Grand Prix venue in 1m26.968s, as a rare fresh-tyre run was optimised by the relatively cool conditions of the first session.
Donington race winner Max Wissel was second in the first session and topped the second for FC Basel, just 0.064s and 0.066s faster than Esteban Guerrieri (Olympiakos) and John Martin (Rangers) respectively.
The third session was headed by Roma returnee Franck Perera, who lapped in 1m27.219s - 0.438sec ahead of Corinthians' Antonio Pizzonia, who was just 0.042sec faster than Giorgio Pantano of AC Milan.
Series newcomer Sebastien Bourdais set his best time in the final session for Sevilla, his 1m27.861s good enough for fifth place for the Formula 1 refugee. He was two places ahead in that session of fellow debutant Alvaro Parente (Porto), although the Spa GP2 race winner was fourth fastest in session two.
The other local hero, Pedro Petiz, did not get Sporting Lisbon's home race weekend off to a good start when he crashed exiting the final corner, swiping the front wing off his car and halting the final practice session.
