Casey Stoner says he is excited to wear the Honda MotoGP team colors for the first time after four years with Ducati. The Australian admitted he is overwhelmed to be joining the same team his childhood star Mick Doohan once won many championships for.
"I'm really excited and it's a great emotion to wear the Repsol Honda colors for the first time," Stoner said during the official presentation of the team in Kuala Lumpur. "When I was a child, I used to watch Mick Doohan winning championships one and the other with these colors and for me it's an honor to be part of this team.
Stoner is determined to gain an understanding of the RC212V's strong and weak points as he knows it will be a tough season competing with strong drivers such as his teammates Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso.
"It will be important to understand better the strong points of the RC212V and where we have to improve to be competitive at every tack. I'm very motivated for the new challenge," Stoner said.
