GAME ON FOR GANASSI – After just lurking in the early stages, both Chip Ganassi Racing BMW Rileys have come to the fore at the front of the field in the Rolex 24 at Daytona nearly at the halfway mark. More than 100 laps passed in-between yellow flags, and while CGR had led with its IndyCar drivers Graham Rahal and Scott Dixon, Allan McNish took over once again in the Starworks Ford Riley in an attempt to chase him down. Pit stops have just reshuffled the order, with McNish now heading the No. 5 Action Express Corvette (David Doohue), No. 6 and 60 Michael Shank Racing Ford Rileys (Gustavo Yacaman, AJ Allmendinger) and Dixon.

Of note, Marco Andretti (No. 2 Starworks Ford Riley) and Paul Tracy (No. 77 Doran Racing Ford Dallara) are next to one another on the scoring pylons. GAINSCO's woes continue as a water pump is being replaced, sending the “Red Dragon” to the garage for hour-plus repairs.

CAMAROS LURKING IN GT – Besides the Porsches from Magnus and Brumos Racing, both of the Camaros are hanging around in the top-seven and threatening. Autohaus's No. 88 and Stevenson's No. 57 cars have steadily maintained the pace not far off the Porsches. The SpeedSource Mazda is also surviving, thanks to the steady hands of Sylvain Tremblay, Jonathan Bomarito, Marino Franchitti and James Hinchcliffe.

Magnus Racing's second car, which was raising money for Racing4Research in partnership with the Children's Tumor Foundation, just retired past 2:30 a.m. ET with engine issues.
