TOPEKA, Kan. (Feb. 16, 2004) – With SPEED Channel’s new lineup to programming beginning this week, one program, Sports Car Revolution , promises to be of interest to fans of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge.

Brought to the network by the same producers of Dream Car Garage, Sports Car Revolution (SCR) focuses on the hot cars in the marketplace and what people do to make them perform at a higher level.

“Sports Car Revolution is all about how to make your sports car work or work better,” show co-host Tom Hnatiw said. “We bring no bling. In fact, we make fun of bling. Bling isn’t fast. In fact, bling is extra weight. Bling is slow.

“We think that if there are so many cars on the street that are meant to look like race cars, someone ought to be talking about how to make them work more like race cars and less like loser cruisers."

Hnatiw, who has served as voice of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge since SPEED Channel became the series’ title sponsor in 1999, is joined on the light-hearted, but informational program by Sony recording artist Kazzar, whose song “Pedal To The Metal” has become a modern day anthem for automotive tuners and enthusiasts.

Also joining the duo will be Peter Klutt (Dream Car Garage), Jeff Lorriman (Hyundai factory driver), Sean Hyland (expert wrench and author of “How to Build Max Power 4.6L Ford Engines”) and Jaime Wilson with the Dyno Truth or Dare segment that challenges a new car guy to “put up or shut up” on her DynoJet.

Additionally, SCCA SPEED World Challenge drivers and crews will drop in during the season to discuss their race cars and what makes them go fast.

Fast paced and in-your-face, SCR builds a brand-new Acura of Hamilton (Canada) RSX-S into a track car with extensive use of Mugen and TODA pieces from King Motorsports, the SCCA SPEED Touring Car team that ran Bob Endicott in 2003, winning at Mid-Ohio.

In addition, SCCA will be featured as a sponsor of the “At the Track” segment in each episode. This part of each show highlights the variety of ways for car enthusiast to get involved in motorsports and take their passion to the track through SCCA .

“Sports Car Revolution is the perfect vehicle for us to not only show off our outstanding SPEED World Challenge Championships, but demonstrate the ways that SCCA help enthusiasts make motor sports a real part of their lives,” SCCA VP of Marketing Garret Mudd said. “We’ve been anticipating this show for a year, and can’t wait to tune into SPEED on Tuesday evening.”

The initial season of Sports Car Revolution will run Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. (Eastern) for 13 weeks. Rebroadcasts can be found in the program schedule at www.speedtv.com.
