Ticket sale figures for the Spanish Grand Prix are 10 percent ahead of last year, with general admission tickets already sold out nearly three weeks ahead of the event.
"The sales pace is good, non-stop," said the Barcelona circuit's general manager Ramon Praderas. "The General Admittance area is sold out and the most popular grandstands as well, but there are still tickets available for the remaining grandstands. If the pace continues like this, we will be able to achieve good attendance figures, although we won't reach the figures of the record year (2007)."
The circuit said it is not planning to increase the capacity in the general admission area, which can hold around 30,000 spectators. The second pre-sales period in February was closed with 53,000 tickets sold.
