An exclusive tour of the Ferrari factory, hospitality at a Formula 1 test, signed overalls from leading drivers including Felipe Massa and Paul di Resta, plus signed Fernando Alonso gloves, are the latest items that have been added to a special charity auction taking place this week.
Massa's race engineer Rob Smedley and his wife Lucy are helping raise funds for children's charity, Zoe's Place Baby Hospices, with a dinner at the Beamish Hall Country House Hotel on Friday, where he will be a guest speaker.
As well as fund raising on the night, the Smedleys have secured a number of F1 items for an auction that will be taking place. Pre-bids for the items can also be made. The lots include a trip for two to the Ferrari factory in Italy, guest places at an F1 test, plus signed overalls from Massa, di Resta, Heikki Kovalainen and Timo Glock.
There is also signed Alonso fireproof underwear and gloves, a signed Stefano Domenicali race shirt, a Mercedes pit stop helmet signed by Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg and a Williams rear wing endplate signed by Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado.
Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton have also signed half-sized replica helmets, while there is also a Giancarlo Fisichella replica Renault helmet up for grabs.
