The Sao Paulo IndyCar race has been red-flagged for a second time as conditions in the Brazilian city refused to improve following today's downpour.
Rain had begun to fall shortly before the event, and worsened during the opening laps, prompting a red flag after eight laps run mostly under yellow.
With many drivers saying the visibility was the worst they had ever experienced, the event remained paused for nearly two and a half hours before the field took to the track again behind the safety car. But still the rain continued to fall and with little prospect of the weather improving, the decision was taken to red flag the race again after several low-speed laps under yellow.
