It has been a busy few days and, more than anything, I have been focused on recovering from my crash on Sunday. I am really thankful to the No. 29 crew who have done an amazing job this week working so hard to put the car together. Today is the first day that the engine is on and now it is back to business.

I spent a lot of time on my physical therapy these last few days. I have been getting massages which go really deep into the scar tissue to try to soften everything. I'll tell you, when people think about massages, they think relaxation. I was crying! I had tears in my eyes. The therapist was using her elbows on my back and just drilling. It felt great at the end but it was a pretty painful process.

This all really came from how “rookie” I am. I didn't know what to do when I crashed. I moved my head too much to the front when I was going to hit the wall. They say the best way is to put your head back and relax. It is easy to say but hard to do when you are going backward at 200+ mph into a wall. I wouldn't have had all the soreness if I had done this, but the best medicine has been knowing that we are in the show. It was the best present for Bryan, Steve, William Rast and the guys on the team who have worked so much.

Thursday, it was back to Indy Lights again. As soon as I sat in the car, I felt so high up. I could see everything. I got too used to the other car where you sit much lower and there is more around you. When I went out on track, the first thing I felt was the power. I went to the throttle and it seemed like there was no power after driving the Indy car. It was something that I needed to get used to again. The other thing was the engine sound. We have a higher rpm on the Indy cars and you can actually hear the engine all the way through. In Indy Lights, you can only hear the wind inside your helmet. It took me about three laps to get used to that.

When I went into Turn 1 for the first time, I hit my marks at the entry and as I moved the steering wheel I was maybe 200 feet early for the apex. Whoa! I realized that things were going a lot slower and I needed to take it easier. After three laps, I was back into the groove of setting up the car. It is great to be with a team that can challenge for the Firestone Indy Lights Championship, and we are looking forward to working for that first position.
