All-Inkl Lamborghini driver Dominik Schwager claimed pole position for the FIA GT1 World Championship round at the team's home track of the Sachsenring.

Schwager, who is paired with Nicky Pastorelli, placed second in the times in Q3 by with a lap time of 1m18.714s, but was promoted to the top spot when Mike Hezemans lost his best time in the Selleslagh-run Team China Chevrolet after he returned to the track after stopping at his pit, which is prohibited in Q3. The decision means team-mate Nicky Catsburg will start this afternoon's qualifying race from seventh position.

"This is a big surprise for us, because this track doesn't suit our Lamborghini," Schwager said. "We only just made in through Q1, but we made some improvements and improved our car. Nicky did an amazing time, and I thought how am I going to improve on that."

Stef Dusseldorp, driving the best of the Hexis AMR Aston Martins, ended up second with a time three tenths behind the Lamborghini.

Stefan Mucke claimed third place in the Young Driver AMR Aston Martin he shares with Darren Turner. Warren Hughes took fourth place on his return to the Sumo Power Nissan squad.
