Last week's rumors that Michael Schumacher could come out of retirement to rejoin Ross Brawn on the team now majority-owned by Mercedes-Benz were downplayed over the weekend by Ross Brawn, while Schumacher's longtime personal manager, Willi Weber, poured more fuel on the fire.
Brawn told Germany's Bild magazine, "There's nothing to it except a dream of the media. Michael would have come back temporarily for Ferrari, but he doesn't want to start a new career."
Weber, however, affirmed that Schumacher had spoken with Mercedes GP team officials.
"I know that Michael spoke with Dieter Zetsche [CEO of Daimler AG] and Norbert Haug at the season's finale in Abu Dhabi," he told Britain's The Guardian newspaper.
