In an interview with Germany's Der Spiegel magazine, seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher says his neck injury, which forced him to call off his planned comeback with Ferrari this season, will be sufficiently healed to allow him to compete again. Although he didn't say he was definitely planning an F1 return, he also refused to rule it out.
"I still slightly regret having retired three years ago, but there's no reason whatsoever for me to definitively announce that I will not come back," Schumacher said. "The life I lead makes me happy, but who knows that will happen a few months or a year down the line?"
Ferrari has signed Fernando Alonso for next year, and also has Felipe Massa under contract, assuming he is ready to race at the start of 2010.
