TOPEKA, Kan. (Oct. 15, 2006) – The 2006 SCCA Yokohama Advan Volunteers of the Year were announced Saturday night at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Kansas—As Big As You Think, being held at Heartland Park Topeka.

Ten winners were announced in the Emergency Services, Flagging & Communications, Pit/Grid, Race Administration, Registration, Start, Scrutineering, Timing & Scoring, Sound Control and Race Steward specialties, with one of the group being selected to take a trip to the 2007 Le Mans 24 hour race in France as a guest of Yokohama.

The 2006 Yokohama Advan Volunteers of the Year are:

Emergency Services: David Browning, Neohio Region
Flagging & Communications: Keith Rood, Arizona Region
Pit/Grid: Shirley Thompson, Washington, D.C. Region
Race Administration: Jim Creighton, Atlanta Region
Registration: Kelley Huxtable, Des Moines Valley Region
Starter: Lynne Allen, Atlanta Region
Scrutineering: Dale Smith, Kansas City Region
Timing & Scoring: Laurie Gaunt-Wandell, Western Michigan Region
Sound Control: Debbie Radford, South Carolina Region
Stewards: Tom Hoffman, Washington, D.C. Region

In the random draw of all eligible Volunteers of the Year, Hoffman was the recipient of the trip to Le Mans in 2007.
