LEXINGTON, Ohio (September 22, 2002) -- The Sports Car Club of America, Inc. honored its own this week, naming the recipients of the BFGoodrich Tires Worker of the Year awards for the 2002 Club Racing season.
As part of the annual Valvoline Runoffs® National Championship event, individuals were recognized for their excellence in nine specialties, including: Paddock, Starter, Sound Control, Timing & Scoring, Registrar, Race Chair, Grid, Flagging & Communications and Emergency Services.
"Our volunteer workers are not only what enables the SCCA to hold events, but they are paramount in organizing and running professional events nationwide for many different sanctioning bodies," said Steve Johnson, SCCA President and CEO. "Each year, the SCCA and BFGoodrich Tires salute the best of the best, and we're proud to call the BFGoodrich Worker of the Year award winners a part of our family."
