TOPEKA, Kan. (May 20, 2009) – Sports Car Club of America announced today that it intends to have a television broadcast component for the 2009 SCCA National Championship Runoffs®, but the extent of that programming is contingent on sponsor support.
“The Runoffs has enjoyed extensive television coverage for the last dozen years, and it is our intention to continue to have a quality broadcast product,” SCCA VP, Marketing and Communications Eric Prill said. “However, we have been informed by our longtime television partner SPEED Channel that it cannot offer the same level of support due to the economic downturn. We have a number of program format options we’re reviewing, but each requires a certain level of financial support.
“We’re working closely with Road America and our longtime production partner Mullin Production Group to assemble the right partners and ensure the best television program possible.”
Interested parties should contact Prill at (800) 770-2055 or eprill@scca.com.
