TOPEKA, Kan. (June 2, 2009) – The first phase of registration for the 2009 SCCA National Championship Runoffs begins Wednesday, June 3 at 9 a.m. (CDT). The initial phase is open to drivers who have participated in at least the last 10-consecutive Runoffs events and all volunteers.
Driver and volunteer registration for the event is available online through http://www.scca.com/event.aspx?hub=1&event=13506. A paper driver registration form is also available for download here or by calling the SCCA Club Racing office at 785-232-7229.
New for 2009, drivers who have current consecutive Runoffs participation streaks may pre-register for the event, be it through online or paper registration. There are three registration dates based on these streaks:
- Drivers with a streak of 10 or more consecutive Runoffs events (including 2008) may register beginning June 3 at 9 a.m. (CDT)
- Drivers with a streak of 1 to 9 consecutive Runoffs events (including 2008) may register beginning June 10 at 9 a.m. (CDT)
- All drivers are eligible to register from June 17 at 9 a.m. (CDT) until registration closes Tuesday, September 8 at midnight.
Once drivers have registered, they will receive a special confirmation code and instructions on how to reserve paddock space through Road America’s Web site. Car numbers from 2008 will be held for a driver until July 1. Conflicts due to combined class groupings will be resolved on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, registration for Monday’s test day will also be available once event registration has been completed.
For full details on the registration process, please see section one of the Supplementary Regulations.
