TOPEKA, Kan. (April 28, 2006) – Driver and volunteer registration for the 2006 SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® is now officially open, as of May 1. The online registration system has been activated at www.scca.com, and paper entries will be accepted via mail or fax.

Information for the event, held October 9-15 at Heartland Park Topeka, is available at http://www.scca.com/Event/Event.asp?Ref=06-runoffs, or by clicking on “Club Racing” and then “Runoffs” at scca.com. To receive an entry via fax or mail, contact Deanna Flanagan at 800-770-2055, or find it in the May FasTrack®.

For the first time in Runoffs history, as part of the online registration process, all drivers have the optional convenience of reserving a spot in the paddock to ensure that entry to the facility and paddock parking will be as hassle-free as possible. Spots can be reserved at a cost of $100/entry and the spots can be changed via the interactive map until the close of entries, Sept. 8.

Drivers are not required to reserve a spot, and with nearly 800 paddock spaces available, there will be room for everyone. However, the system allows individuals to view the map and select spaces with their teammates and friends at the click of a mouse, without the need to send someone out days or weeks in advance to try to save space.

To see who has reserved a spot, one only needs to hover over a spot denoted as reserved to see who has claimed that spot.

Also for the first time in event history, registration for volunteers has been automated online. Like driver registration, individuals not utilizing online registration may request a paper form from Deanna Flanagan, or find it in the May FasTrack®.

As has always been the case, car numbers are issued on a first-come, first-served basis and No. 1 is always reserved for the defending Champion. Combined groups throughout the week will share a pool of numbers.
