Valentino Rossi is confident that his crash at the end of Brno qualifying will not hamper him in tomorrow's Czech Grand Prix.
The Italian had already set the time that proved to be his pole position lap when he fell with three minutes to go. Although he was unable to get his bike back on track and return to the pits, Rossi got up and walked away without difficulty. He suffered some discomfort afterwards, but does not believe he has sustained any significant injuries.
"I have some pain in a right toe, maybe something more, but for sure tomorrow it will not be a big problem," said Rossi. "The first important thing is that I'm fit."
He said his unhappiness with the tires Bridgestone had provided for the Brno event had contributed to the crash.
"This weekend just one front tire of the two works, so we have to do the whole weekend with just four front tires," said Rossi. "I already had 60 laps on the front so for sure it was a big stress on the front tyre. I went very deep on braking and I lost the front."
But he added that he was already happy with the race preparation work he had managed prior to the accident, and is confident of a strong race.
"We have the pole position, we worked well on the setting this afternoon so it's possible to be competitive, and fortunately I'm fit," Rossi said.
