Nico Rosberg is confident his Mercedes team can be ahead of Ferrari during this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix following a promising start to the weekend on Friday.
The German and his team put on a strong showing the previous race in China, after the squad managed to extract the full potential from its car following a slow start in the first two races. Rosberg, who finished as second quickest in today's practice, is optimistic Mercedes will be able to emulate that performance in Istanbul.
"What we are aiming to do is put on a similar performance again here," said Rosberg. "We are not expecting to improve on that. We just hope that we can consolidate that and maybe be again ahead of Ferrari. It's a good possibility."
The Mercedes driver said strategy will again be crucial this weekend, but he is positive his team will get it right once more.
"The strategy is very important this year and fortunately I think we are one of the best in that," he said.
