Andrei Romanov will return to the World Touring Car Championship to drive alongside Franz Engstler in the German's independent BMW team again this year.
Romanov previously raced for Engstler in 2008, taking fifth in the independents' class and scoring a best overall result of ninth in the Macau finale. The 30-year-old Russian switched to the German ADAC Procar series last year and achieved three race victories in a Maurer Chevrolet.
"Andrei has always had ambitions, now we can benefit from his 2008 experience and go together as a strong team into the championship," said Engstler.
The Engstler team also hopes to run a third car for Macanese driver Henry Ho in 2010.
