Alex Tagliani, Fazzt, Indianapolis 2010The FAZZT Race Team has announced that its general manager Rob Edwards has been promoted to the role of chief operating officer. Jim Freudenberg had previously held the COO position until he stepped down following the Indianapolis 500. The team said that Freudenberg had resigned for personal reasons.

Edwards said he would be taking a big hand in the commercial development of the squad, which has made a big impression in its debut IndyCar season. Driver Alex Tagliani qualified on the front row for the team's first race in Sao Paulo, and was a prime threat for pole at Indianapolis before taking fifth in the Fast Nine shootout.

"We are looking forward to continue to grow and develop the commercial operations side of the FAZZT Race Team," said Edwards. "The team has a very strong commercial platform with a number of very strong partners and we will continue to strengthen those partnerships and create new ones."
